It's #NaNoWriMo Time Again
Oct. 11th, 2015 05:43 pmIf I'm going to be honest with myself, being motivated to write is really difficult on my own. I tend to get easily distracted by any and everything. NaNoWriMo is the only time I ever really sit down to write. I find that every other month of the year I'm terrible at managing my time even though I'm not doing anything more in my daily life than I am during the month of November.
Today I discovered Habitica, which seems to be perfect for me. I have quite a lot of love for RPGs and turning my productivity into a game seems like a great idea. I needed something to motivate me to write each day and I think I may have found it. I'll also try to participate in writing communities again and be active on forums.
As far as this year's NaNoWriMo goes, I already know what I'm writing. I'll be working on Clearwood Hunters #2 - The Broken Game (the tile may change), which is a complete rewrite of my 2010 NaNoWriMo project that I scrapped after getting the proof copy because in all honesty, it was terrible.
I have the plot pretty much reworked and all I have to do is outline now.
Hopefully I'll successfully finish NaNoWriMo this year .

Last Minute #NaNoPrep for #NaNoWriMo2014
Oct. 31st, 2014 12:48 pm I have done much prep work this past week. I installed The Sims 3 and have started a legacy challenge that distracted me and well... procrastination also set in. However it is October 31st and NaNoWriMo is less than 11 hours away (at least it is for me). I'm doing last minute plot work and scene planning.
I plan to start writing as soon as it hits 12am November 1st. My goal for day one is at east 10k. I'd like to write more but we'll see how that goes. Lately I've been staying awake at night until insane hours (6am or the when the sun rises), so that leaves me plenty of time to write tonight and everyday. I'd like to finish (at least 50k) within a week. My personal best is 5 days. Wordcount-wise, I'm being an overachiever and going for 90 - 100k. I'd like to get Broken Halos finished and then start on my next project.
Other than that. Good luck all of you other WriMos out there.

One Week Until NaNoWriMo
Oct. 25th, 2014 02:35 amThere's one week left until NaNoWriMo starts and waiting is so hard. I'm considering starting Broken Halos early, but that depends on how much of the scene outline I finish. I'm not close to finished with it yet. Maybe to hold myself off I'll do a little back story writing. A drabble here and a drabble there. I could also play with the Camp NaNo project that never got started. But first, I need to get that outline a little more close to competed.
In a little over a week, NaNoWriMo for this year begins. I'm not completely prepared, but I do have my plot outline complete. I've started breaking things down into scenes though I doubt I'll be done by November. I'm working on a complete rewrite of a previous NaNo project.
Delicate Sins of my Clearwood Hunters Series is getting a completely new plot. The original has many plot holes and the new plot is much more thought out. It will even getting a new name. I'm keeping the characters but they all have new wants and goals. Character relationships have changed as well. Overall everything works a lot better.
Every time I've tried to do a rewrite with the previous plot, it didn't go very far. I'm very pleased with the new outline and my characters have been given more depth.
After NaNoWriMo, the second novel in the series, Moonswept Deceit will also be getting a rewrite and possibly a new title. That plot has been changed for the better as well. After that, I'll finally be moving on to the other books in the series.
I plan to post the novels online as web fiction after they've been edited. For as long as I've been working on this series, it's always been for fun and I've never really thought of publishing it outside of self publishing. Well I had at one point but I think it's better this way.
Other than that, I've been debating on whether I want to draw a cover image for the novel or just leave it blank for nano. I haven't drawn anything in a while.

Prompt Communities
Jul. 10th, 2013 04:12 pmTo push myself back into writing (it's been a long time), I've decided to join a prompt and a few bingo communities. I've always enjoyed prompt tables so I'm hoping that this will kick start my creativity. I'm going to do prompts from the runaway_tales community for a conworld I have that just sits neglected in my writing folder along with it's various canon verses. So I say it's time to breath life into that world again.
A Little Introduction
Jul. 9th, 2013 04:54 pmHi everyone!
I'm Izumi and I'll be starting my writing journey here. Here I'll be posting flash fiction, short stories and overall my writing processes in general. A few post here and there about a few of my other hobbies may show up as well to liven things up more.
Some of my other hobbies include drawing, crocheting, and listening and enjoying lots of K-Pop and a little J-Pop, as well as language learning.
That being said, most of the writing you'll find here will be paranormal and fantasy fiction. Sometimes romance of all varieties (M/M, M/F, F/F, etc.. I have no preference) is sprinkled in as well.
And that's it. I hope you enjoy my work and this blog.
